Showing God's Love to Everyone We Meet

While at Target recently, I witnessed a heartwarming interaction between a young girl and an older cashier that truly touched my heart. The way the girl showed genuine kindness by engaging the cashier in conversation about his life and then going the extra mile to buy his favorite candy bar for him was a beautiful display of empathy and compassion. Witnessing the emotional impact it had on the cashier, bringing tears to his eyes, was a powerful reminder of the profound effect simple acts of kindness can have on others.

As I observed this exchange, I couldn't help but be struck by the pure light emanating from the girl. Her selfless gesture and genuine care for someone she had just met was truly inspiring. She seemed to possess an inner light that exuded warmth and kindness to those in her presence. Even though I was unaware of the girl's beliefs at first, her behavior stood out as distinctly unique compared to what I usually observed. In that moment, I felt a deep sense of connection and a recognition of the presence of the Holy Spirit working through her. It was a reminder that demonstrating Christ's love is precisely what He encourages us to exhibit.

After witnessing this beautiful interaction, I felt compelled to approach the girl and express my admiration for her kindness. When I asked if she knew the Lord, her enthusiastic confirmation only reaffirmed the sense of divine presence I had felt. This interaction had the potential to be very awkward, but I chose to set aside my pride and acknowledge the way she was exemplifying the fruits of the spirit in her behavior. She was reflecting Christ, something that all Christian's are encouraged to do.

Phillipians 2:3-4, "Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others."
